First Part called Ship Ahoy Witches

Anyone who doesn’t’ know, I like to express who I am, which is doing arts & craft. I have chosen this time around I was going to do a Photo College but not any that you usually see. My first idea was to do a ship based around the Truthwitch story but that idea was fading very fast. Frustrated that the idea was working, I ended up coming up with the water symbol as my college. The ship college stilled sailed on. Also thank-you mum for the help also 🙂

Second part called asked Maree

Our clan has set up a reading challenge, if you’re having any trouble looking for a paranormal read or a murder mystery I have the book for you. Although it isn’t water book but it fits in the elements of Aether and Void. I’m interviewing my mother about her debut novel released in 2013, sequel coming out 2016. She isn’t a well know author, she is trying to get her book out there like any new author. At the end of the day it is up to you to pick up this book, try something new, you may enjoy it.

He is befriended by Tilly the resident ghost who only Darcy can see. Darcy succeeds his escape from the orphanage taking some of Tilly’s memories with him. He realizes later that Tilly followed him to his house. Her ulterior motive is for Darcy to expose a murder that happened in the building before it was an orphanage. At the same time Darcy must deal with the people who have made his life a living hell.

Questionnaire

Q: What inspired you to write Willow Hall?

A: I had a story in mind for a long time about an orphanage environment. I got stuck for ideas until I stumbled on a clipping about an author who actually lived his early years in an orphanage. I bought his book and requested that I use some of his experience in my book, although his wasn’t about ghosts. We have become close friends since.

Q: What’s the hardest part writing your books?

A:Reaching a dead end. Time consumed in research.

Q: Has any of your own experiences reflected in your writing?

A:Yes, I was educated by nuns in a Catholic primary school. The discipline was brutal although some of the nuns seemed maternal. Orphanages were also run by nuns, however, they were more regimental and cruel to their students. The story about that reflects the cruelty the children experienced by the nuns.

Q: How did you begin writing? Did you intend to become an author, or do you have a specific reason or reasons for writing a book?

A: I always loved making up stories and characters. What urged me on to write a book was when I attended a creative writing class at my local university. I needed to see that I was on the right track where it came to write a book. I also read lots of material on the subject and joined writing groups online and a local group in my community.

Q: What’s more important: characters or plot?

A: In my opinion I would say both, however the first important aspect is working on the plot then creating characters to fit the story plot.

Q: What do you want people to take away from your book, is there any hidden message you want people to grasp.

A:That there is good and evil everywhere. Sadness, love, loneliness, survival; the list goes on but what really stands out is how a person can be resilient and grow up from a bad experience and still be a good person.

Q: What‘s the earliest memory you have of writing a story?

A: Mainly my childhood. I wrote an essay for my class assignment. My teacher kept it because she liked it so much.

Q: What is your least favourite of the writing process?

A: It’s having a mental block and stumbling out of a nightmare and feeling like I’ve come to a complete stand still and having to work my way out. Its the time wasted in finding ideas that strike me as distressing. This book Willow Hall took me six years to write. What’s more the least favourite bit of the writing process for me was the editing process. It is so draining on the mind and can be dreadful when I have missed typo errors even though I have read it over and over many times.

Q: What authors do you like to read? What book or books have had a strong influence on you or your writing?

A:I have many authors I like; I give them all the benefit of my doubt. The kind of books that influence me are autobiographies and true stories about the author’s struggles. The story of Anne Frank is what pushes my thoughts to how life was like during the holocaust, how friendships are pushed past the boundaries. It brings out the worst and the best in people.

Q: Who would be your dream cast?

A: I wrote this book for my main character to be Ben Whishaw as Darcy (protagonist) and Hugh Grant as Father Hugh Delaney (the misunderstood antagonist) As for the remainder of the cast; that’s anyone’s guess. If it were to become a film in the future, I’d leave it to the casting crew to work through it.

Q: What are we to expect in the Reckoning?

A: An excellent ending to Darcy’s struggle with his past and to finally have Tilly out of his life forever.

Q: What are your plans to do after the sequel?

A: I’d like to try a story with humour for a change, although, I like stories where I can turn them into mysteries and keep the reader guessing to the very end. I have titles and plots in mind however I want to hold that for later.

Q: Any last thoughts for our readers?

A: If you like ghost stories you might want to give Willow Hall a good work out. I have read many ghost stories in my life and have found none of them to appease me. That’s also why I wrote this book, I like a good ghost story.

Third part called ‘Asked Sooz’

Q: What inspired you to create a world about witches and where did the six clan idea come from?

A: The idea for “witches” came to me right as I was falling asleep—I heard the word Threadwitch. I instantly snapped awake and started to wonder what a Threadwitch was, what kind of word she lived in, and what other “witches” there might be. I ended up imagining so many kinds of witches that it got a bit unwieldy, so to simplify/smooth things out, I came up with the 6 elements. Now every kind of witchery falls into one of those elements: Aether, Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Void.

Q: In your opinion what was the hardest step creating a masterpiece story for the Something Strange and Deadly series and Truthwitch?

A: As for the hardest step creating my stories, well…every book is different. And honestly, that’s a challenge for me! I want to be able to use the same method each time I write a book, but I’ve found that no two books come out in the same way. I just have to accept that and discover the story by whatever means necessary. 🙂

Synopsis

On a continent ruled by three empires, some are born with a “witchery”, a magical skill that sets them apart from others. In the Witchlands, there are almost as many types of magic as there are ways to get in trouble—as two desperate young women know all too well. Safiya is a Truthwitch, able to discern truth from lie. It’s a powerful magic that many would kill to have on their side, especially amongst the nobility to which Safi was born. So Safi must keep her gift hidden, lest she be used as a pawn in the struggle between empires. Iseult, a Threadwitch, can see the invisible ties that bind and entangle the lives around her—but she cannot see the bonds that touch her own heart. Her unlikely friendship with Safi has taken her from life as an outcast into one of reckless adventure, where she is a cool, wary balance to Safi’s hotheaded impulsiveness. Safi and Iseult just want to be free to live their own lives, but war is coming to the Witchlands. With the help of the cunning Prince Merik (a Windwitch and ship’s captain) and the hindrance of a Bloodwitch bent on revenge, the friends must fight emperors, princes, and mercenaries alike, who will stop at nothing to get their hands on a Truthwitch.

Cassandra Clare Lady Midnight Cover revealed!!!

Cassandra Clare just recently unveiled the cover to her latest novel, Lady Midnight, is based five years from the events of the Mortal Instruments. This cover blew me away, I wasn’t expecting this, hours before the cover was released, I was thinking to myself of course that the cover was going to be something similar to her pervious books. Wow what a surprise, stunned, no words to explain how I was feeling.

AngelWings

Synopsis

Los Angeles. It’s been five years since the events of the Mortal Instruments when Nephilim stood poised on the brink of oblivion and Shadowhunter Emma Carstairs lost her parents. After the blood and violence she witnessed as a child, Emma has dedicated her life to to discovering exactly what it was that killed her parents and getting her revenge.

Raised in the Los Angeles Institute with the Blackthorn family, Emma is paired as a parabatai with her best friend, Julian Blackthorn. A series of murders in the city catch her attention — they seem to have the same characteristics as the deaths of her parents. Could the murderer be the same person? And her attention isn’t the only one caught: someone has been murdering Downworlders as well. The Fair Folk make a deal with the Institute: if the Blackthorns and Emma will investigate the killings, they’ll return Mark Blackthorn to his home. The catch: they have only two weeks to find the killers. Otherwise it’s open war between faeries and Nephilim.

The Shadowhunters of the Institute must race against time to catch the killers, even as they begin to suspect the involvement of those closest to them. At the same time, Emma is falling in love with the one person in the world she’s absolutely forbidden by Shadowhunter Law to love. Set against the glittering backdrop of present-day Los Angeles, Emma must learn to trust her head and her heart as she investigates a demonic plot that stretches from the warlock-run nightclubs of the Sunset Strip to the enchanted sea that pounds the beaches of Santa Monica.

Kristen Painter cover revealed!!!

Kristen Painter revealed the cover to her fourth book ‘The Professor Woos the Witch’, the fourth instalment in the Nocturne Falls series.

punkinSynopsis

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town where Halloween is celebrated 365 days a year. The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernatural population the town know better. Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs and all.

Pandora Williams is Nocturne Falls’ most successful real estate agent. And least successful witch. Her magic never has the intended outcome, but she’s learned to live with that. Mostly. Yes, it sucks, but what can she do? Then a hot new neighbour shows up and suddenly her magic works. Very cool, but very suspect. Especially since he’s a total non-believer.

Cole Van Zant likes practicality and absolutes. Things he can see and touch. So not magic. But when his teenage daughter insists she’s a witch-and they’re now living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day-he needs help. Of the witchy variety. Thankfully, his sexy neighbour buys into all that hocus pocus.

Enlisting her help seems like a great until spending time together reveals a supernatural surprise about who Cole really is. A secret ever he didn’t know. Could Pandora and Cole really be meant for one another or is their attraction too much to believe?

Can’t wait to read the next instalment and see what happens next.
