Can a vampire dance and shoot at the same time?

Vampire bounty hunter Nathaniel Newburg follows his mark into Nocturne Falls, a place where it’s easy for anyone to hide and blend in. At first it seems as though he has his prey cornered, only to confront a beautiful feline-shifter Camille Nahuel instead. She dances around the floor with sultry steps, instructing a ballroom class, and dances around his heart even faster. Oh, Tango, the game is on. Can Nathaniel control his annoyance long enough to finish his job and save his love?

The Vampire Bounty Hunter’s Unexpected Catch is the first book by Larissa Emerald set in the Nocturne Falls Universe. Take a twirl around the dance floor with a flirty feline shifter and a sexy vampire.

my review

Nathaniel Newburg a vampire from Terror, Minnesota a knife maker and a bounty hunter. When called for an assignment to chase down a vampire leads him to Nocturne Falls where he runs into a beautiful women name Camille Nahuel, a dance instructor whom hates vampire’s all together. Camille comes face to face with bounty hunter’s vampire and makes herself a target. Their trouble ahead, can he save the town and the girl he failing for?

Larissa tried bringing two worlds together and felt forced, it started off promising but lacked as a whole. The characters are written well and are likeable but lack in depth and she needs to plan their story better if she writes another addition. If you want to compare both authors, Kristen goes in depth and builds up the climax of her characters and leaves you hanging till the very last page.

Happy New Year

hapy-new-year

Almost a month into the New Year and still creating my New Year Resolution but I find what is really the point creating one where every year is pretty much the same. Anyway  this year I believe it will change, I believe it got something to do with the number 17 and of course I was born on the 17th. So far I’m planning to read a lot more books than originally planned the previous year, add more reading challenges and stick to a healthy diet. One of my resolution I’ve made many years ago is to move out of home and it’s happening very soon. Will this be the year where I finally achieved my goal? Finger cross this will be the year for change.

Welcome to Nocturne Falls, where there’s a supernatural on every corner, if you have the magic to see them.

Trick Scanlon is introduced to town when a playful horse nearly drowns him. Saved by a mermaid’s song, he’s just looking for a place to catch his breath. He never expects to be so drawn to his beautiful savior.

Daria Don’t-Call-Me-A-Mermaid Czernovitch has changed so much her stalker won’t ever find her. She has great friends – witches, gargoyles, and fairies – and she feels safe… until a former Army Ranger turned country music star pulls her into his spotlight.

Can he find his own magic? And will his fame threaten the anonymity she values so much? They make sweet harmony together, but one sour note could ruin it all.

my review

Dariah Black is a Rusalka has stayed out of the spotlight since an incident happen one evening back in Texas. Trick Scanlon a country singer has come to Nocturne Falls in need of a break from his tour and fans. Upon arriving, a horse tried to drown him, meets a beautiful women and finds out he has ability’s too. But when Dariah is pulled back into the spotlight, her fears and nightmare may become a reality. Trick has only know her for a couple days and will do anything in his power to protect her. Will history repeat itself or will her country ranger save her?

A lovely addition added to Kristen’s world. A short story, felt like a novel size and had all the essence Kristen brings to her own novels. Dariah and Trick are the new Johnny and June Cash and hoping Carson will write more in the new future. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Saving the world, one tour stop at a time.

Eighteen-year-old Bitsy Butler has never quite fit in, not with the dragons who raised her, the druid who took her in, or even with the non-human members of the cirque noir punk band she thinks of as family. Her chance to prove she can make it on her own comes with her band’s first big solo tour. It’s all going according to plan when an angel walks into a bar and demands help with his demon problem.   If she doesn’t step up, a magical war will break out, threatening Arizona and all those who call it home. With the help of a human, a sexy dragon, and the members of her band, Bitsy must stop an angry mob of chaos demons before the band leaves for their next tour stop.  It’s nice to be needed, but Bitsy has no idea how to defeat the demons and she just might get herself killed trying. But then, at least one problem would be solved…  Fitting in doesn’t matter if you’re dead.

my thoughts

There something really special when first seeing the cover for the first time. I’ve been waiting for the cover reveal since hearing Suzanne was going to released a new book. Now I’ve seen the cover, I really want to read it now. The character Bitsy looks really stunning looking over the city although we can’t see her face. The blue hair, symbols and that glowing thing Bitsy is holding is beautiful.

Excerpt from The Secret Lives of Rockstars:

“I’m Jake, Jake Messenger. I’d like to speak with you alone, if you please.”

My blood ran cold and everything around us ceased to exist. “Why?”

But I knew. There was only one reason why one of the Grigori would seek me out. Somehow celestials just knew when someone could work gates properly, especially the angels who walked the Earth. Anyone could make gates, but it took a linewalker to work them without it being suicide. Linewalker wasn’t a race, but an inherent ability. One I had.

Also, if the celestials – the angels, demons, and the like – needed help from outsiders, things were very bad. The kind which ended in running, screaming, and death.

I so didn’t need this right now.

Hands of Time Cover Reveal by Michelle Madow

Hello Readers,

The very last cover to Michelle Madow series ‘Elementals’. When I first picked up the first book and learning a group of five teens gain elemental powers but only four books in the series. It was unfair, Kate was never going to have her own cover and hearing Michelle written too many words to conclude the series.  I was very excited although I haven’t read the second, third or fourth yet. I will be reading it before this one comes out. This cover reveal is worth it. Enjoy!!!

Now the Elementals must stop Typhon—the most dangerous monster in the world—from rising, and seal the portal to the dangerous prison world of Kerberos. But they won’t be able to do that without facing their hardest decision yet… a sacrifice so great that it may be one they’re not willing to make.

my thoughts

OMG Kate has her own cover, I’ve been looking forward since Michelle revealed book five is coming out in November. Michelle has left the best for last although I really love all the elemental covers with their own element. Kate looks really fierce and those green leaves really show off her features blends in very well. Can’t wait too read what’s installed for the rest of the series and see how this ends.

Before Ingrid can shuttle her to safety, Phoebe is kidnapped and tossed into one of the Nine Worlds where she’s quickly forced to come to terms with what she is: A valkyrie. The only problem is, she has no idea what that means.
After a narrow escape, she finds an unlikely ally in Loki’s son, Fenrir. Together the valkyrie and the wolf must battle their way back to New York City and reach the valkyrie stronghold where Ingrid is waiting for her. But with danger and obstacles at every turn, she might not live long enough to learn the full truth about who and what she really is…

my review

Struck is the first novel in the Phoebe Meadows series by Amanda Carlson. Phoebe is young, trying to make ends meat living in New York City until she is struck by lightning at work, trying to put it all to a freak accident. That was only the beginning of her problems. Once work was over she was accosted by a man at the subway, finds a raven in her kitchen and her neighbour Ingrid dressed up as a gladiator telling her its not safe for her to stay in New York. Phoebe is thrown into one of the nine world’s who had no idea that existed, she needs to learn about who she is, where she came from or she will die without knowing.
Struck set in New York City and one of the Nine World’s were Phoebe endured near death experience and learning to defend herself in a unknown world with help on the way from a handsome man whom she falls in love with. Phoebe is a heroine in the making, a leader whom others will follower.
Amanda written a vivid world on Norse Mythology where parts made me cringe, fast paced and full of actions and reluctant to turn the page. As a reader thrust into a unknown world, I wouldn’t survive five minutes but Amanda has created a heroine who’s survival, strong and humorous.
My first novel on Norse Mythology and my first by Amanda Carlson. Struck is a very memorable story and amazing start to a new series and can’t wait till Freed released late September.

Her vengeance. His vision.

Ari lost everything she once loved when the Five Guilds’ resistance fell to the Dragon King. Now, she uses her unparalleled gift for clockwork machinery in tandem with notoriously unscrupulous morals to contribute to a thriving underground organ market. There isn’t a place on Loom that is secure from the engineer turned thief, and her magical talents are sold to the highest bidder as long as the job defies their Dragon oppressors.

Cvareh would do anything to see his sister usurp the Dragon King and sit on the throne. His family’s house has endured the shame of being the lowest rung in the Dragons’ society for far too long. The Alchemist Guild, down on Loom, may just hold the key to putting his kin in power, if Cvareh can get to them before the Dragon King’s assassins.

When Ari stumbles upon a wounded Cvareh, she sees an opportunity to slaughter an enemy and make a profit off his corpse. But the Dragon sees an opportunity to navigate Loom with the best person to get him where he wants to go.

He offers her the one thing Ari can’t refuse: A wish of her greatest desire, if she brings him to the Alchemists of Loom.

Michelle Madow The Portal to Kerberos Cover Reveal

Hello Readers,

Well thankfully this isn’t the last cover to Michelle Meadow’s series Elementals so we have one more reveal coming towards the end of the year. For those who have read those books or have to read them, well I was excited when Michele revealed that there will be five not four books in this series. As reading the first book their are five people in this elemental witch group and Michelle can’t just miss one of the characters. So I’m hoping the last book will be Kate who is a Earth element. So we will see in the coming month. So enjoy!!!

She will venture into hell to save the one she loves.

After being betrayed by one of their own, Nicole watches helplessly as Blake is snatched into the prison world of Kerberos—along with Medusa’s head, which is the one item they need to stop the Titans from rising again. Now Nicole and the other Elementals must enter the portal, find Blake, and bring him and Medusa’s head back to Earth before the deadly monster Typhon returns and wreaks havoc on the world. But there’s one catch—their elemental powers don’t work in Kerberos. In a dimension designed to make those within it lose touch with reality, and that’s filled with dangerous creatures who want to stop them from completing their task, will they make it out alive?

In this penultimate book of Nicole’s story, join the Elementals as they journey through hell to save the world… before it’s too late.

 my thoughts

Michelle cover always look amazing and this one makes no different. I’m currently reading the first book in the series and what an amazing read so far. This cover features handsome Chris and isn’t he a dish well I would prefer Blake wink wink. So Chris is a air element and although I live in Australia and we don’t have tornados hear as much as America does but the background colour looks like the sky when a tornado is on the horizon. It fits perfectly with his element and can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series.
